Lego Serious Play® in Action

How it Works
Setting the Stage
The session begins with a facilitator introducing the Lego Serious Play methodology and setting up the challenge or question that needs to be addressed.
Building Models
Participants are given a selection of Lego bricks and are prompted to build models that represent their thoughts, ideas, or solutions to the given challenge. This process taps into participants’ creativity and allows for a wide range of expressions.
Storytelling
Once the models are built, each participant shares their model’s story with the group. This storytelling phase is crucial for understanding different perspectives and insights, as each model embodies personal reflections or strategic concepts.
Reflection
After sharing, the group engages in reflective dialogue. Participants explore similarities and differences in their models, discussing insights and discovering new viewpoints on the issue at hand.
Aggregating Models
Participants might combine their individual models into a shared model, representing a collective vision or solution. This collaborative build helps in aligning team members towards common goals or strategies.
Action Planning
The session concludes with translating the insights and ideas from the models into actionable strategies or plans. This step ensures that the creative process leads to concrete outcomes that can be implemented.
I used Circle Forward for a company team building in Cape Town. We had about 30 people attend and it was a fantastic success. The team was super positive about the experience, and it was the right combination of fun, competitiveness and teamwork that led to a really successful teambuilding event. Thank you Circle Forward team from everyone at Nox Cape Town!
